Vietnam Foodexpo 2025: A green step forward for global agri-food products
Within the framework of the project "Improving international market access for shrimp and rice enterprises through skills enhancement and occupational health and safety (OHS)," supported by Oxfam, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI-HCM) is organizing a specialized pavilion titled "Connectivity Space for Shrimp and Rice Value Chain Products." This initiative is part of the Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition 2025 (Vietnam FoodExpo 2025), taking place from November 12th to 15th, 2025.
On November 12, the Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition 2025 (Vietnam Foodexpo 2025) officially opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City. This is the largest international trade promotion event in the food, agricultural, and aquatic product sectors, chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Vietnam Foodexpo 2025 features over 500 booths from nearly 400 domestic and international enterprises across more than 20 provinces and cities, including major brands such as DH Foods, GC Food, Bich Chi, Sa Giang, Hapro, Colusa-Miliket, Quang Ngai Sugar, Tai Ky, Luong Quoi, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest, Minh Phu, Dong Giao, Sorfarm, and more.
The exhibition gathers businesses from nearly 20 countries and territories, including Japan, South Korea, Thailand, India, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Sweden, New Zealand, and Taiwan. Notably, Japan marked its largest participation to date with nearly 40 units operating in the seafood, processed food, and beverage sectors, showcasing advanced technologies and leading food safety solutions.
As a representative and supporter of the business community, VCCI-HCM has accompanied enterprises and cooperatives in establishing exhibition booths to bridge output markets for products within the shrimp and rice value chains. This activity fosters linkages between businesses and cooperatives, strengthens chain cooperation, and boosts trade promotion. Participation in the exhibition aims to help production facilities enhance brand promotion, introduce products, and expand access to domestic and international markets.
Mr. Nguyen Le Nhat Thanh, Deputy Head of the Bureau for Employers' Activities and Women Entrepreneurs (VCCI-HCM), stated that through this exhibition, VCCI aims to create a space for connection, integration, and expansion of market access opportunities for businesses and cooperatives.
The units selected for this exhibition are those producing rice and shrimp through ecological, natural, and sustainable methods, focusing on emission reduction and environmental friendliness, aligning with Vietnam's international commitments to green agricultural development. "The goal is to help enterprises and cooperatives enhance chain linkages and develop sustainable consumption markets, contributing to the expansion of responsible and high-value-added agricultural production models," said Mr. Nguyen Le Nhat Thanh.
Participating in this event are 06 enterprises and 08 cooperatives from two key value chains, introducing a diverse range of signature products:
Rice Value Chain: ST24 and ST25 ecological rice from the rice-shrimp farming model; deep-processed rice products such as flour, noodles, vermicelli, and phở.
Aquatic (Shrimp) Value Chain: Export-quality black tiger shrimp and white-leg shrimp; deep-processed products like dried shrimp, shrimp salt, and shrimp crackers.
The project is currently being implemented in key localities, including Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, An Giang, and Ca Mau (following the administrative boundary adjustments effective from July 1, 2025).
Participation in Vietnam Foodexpo 2025 marks a significant milestone in the journey to support shrimp and rice value chain stakeholders. Through the exhibition, units not only promote their products but also broaden opportunities for cooperation, trade, and international market connectivity.
A representative from the Ministry of Industry and Trade affirmed that Vietnam Foodexpo 2025 is one of the pivotal activities realizing the sustainable development strategy of Vietnam's food industry. The exhibition provides opportunities for businesses to access technologies and products aligned with new consumption trends while expanding the space for trade promotion, networking, and brand positioning in global markets.
